What helpful hints can you offer a begining 3Der. Has anyone ever had any tips from a pro that might be helpful.

This is a great question and one that everyone has thought of but unfortuanatly archers don't practice the answers. There a a couple of ways to judge distance, the most common is to have five(m) increments in your minds eye , then from your position visualize the distance to the target in five y(m) increments. Or you can measure back from the target. Secondly judge the distance in 1/2 measure the closest 1/2 and X2. Some archers has lots of experience and they get the size of target which computes into distance. There is more to this subject but lots of practice with the above checked in practice with a lazer range finder and your away.

Yes, like Bill says, cut the distance in 1/2 and measure that with 5 or ten yard increaments. Then multiply it by 2 and off you go.

You can practise this anywhere too. Don't wait till you're at the shoot to try it. Rolling Eyes
