The most popular and successful lakes for walleye close to Regina are the four lakes adjacent to Ft Quappelle, Pasqua, Echo, Mission & Katepewa.
Last Mountain lake is a great lake to fish but a difficult lake to catch fish in.The walleye on this lake are usually larger that the QuAppelle lakes.
Lake Diefenbaker is a super lake for rainbow trout , walleye and pike.
There are also some regional parks that have small lakes that draw a lot of attention from areas close by these impoundments. I strongly encourage catch & release fishing. If only everyone carried a camera and a tape measure our fisheries would be trophy quality in no time. We get customers in Great Northern Rod & Reel who tell tales of super big fish being caught and kept to eat. I suspect a good number of these fish will never be eaten, large fish are great for stories but poor for the pan.
If you want the latest hot spots, call us at Great Northern Rod & Reel.
