Opening day, Southern Saskatchewan fishing, it just doesnt get better than that, or does it? Well after the weatherman did his best to chase people away Saturday morning , calm, clear sunny day. For the dedicated fishing was awsome, catching was typical spring fishing, slow bite. Not bad reports from a few people that fished Diefenbaker for rainbows, actually had some that did really well and others who just caught one or two but all wouldnt trade the week end for anything. Walleye fishing was great and for those who used ultra sensitive rods, light line and up to 1/8 oz jigs with a super slow presentation catching was not all that bad. Fair reports from Pelican Pt, Echo lake and of course the Bays on Diefenbaker.
Im heading north to set out bear baits this week end and plan to hunt the week of the long week end in May so Ill keep you posted. Should be a great time Im taking my 12 year old grandson on his first bear hunt and for that matter his fisrt hunt ever so am really looking forward to that. Ill give you the blow by blow after that andas far as fishing we intend to to at least weekly reports alon with lots of tips.
